2026 (JAN/FEB) WAEC GCE
The WAEC for Private Candidates (PC) is an external examination conducted by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) for individuals who are not currently enrolled in a secondary school. It is often referred to as the WAEC GCE (General Certificate Examination) and is available in two series each year: the First Series (January/February) and the Second Series (August/September). This exam is mainly for candidates who wish to:
- Improve on previous WAEC results
- Meet admission requirements for higher institutions
- Gain a secondary school certificate for employment or personal development
WAEC GCE Registration Process:
To register for the WAEC GCE as a private candidate, you need to:
- Purchase a Registration PIN – This is required to access the WAEC online registration portal. The PIN costs ₦29,000 and is available online on this page (Crystallink.ng).
- Biometric Data Capture – WAEC requires both facial and fingerprint biometrics during registration. This must be done using approved biometric software.
